About Sheelagh

“Being outdoors is a constant source of nourishment. I love what I do, surrounded by plants and the joy that being in nature brings”

Sheelagh’s love of nature stems from a childhood growing up in a large rural garden in North County Dublin. Where Saturdays spent with her father learning about plants and nature set the seed that would later grow into a career in horticulture.

She was privileged to train as a horticulturist at The National Botanic Gardens, Dublin, and on completion of her training she was awarded Student Of The Year. Sheelagh went on to work as a horticulturist at The Talbot Botanic Gardens, Malahide Castle for a number of years before setting up her business designing, landscaping and tending to private gardens.

In recent years she has focused her attention on growing flowers sustainably with the seasons. Guided by the rhythms of nature and a living connection with the land she preserves the fleeting beauty of nature by pressing and drying flowers. She carefully designs and creates botanical artwork. With a passion to hero plants in every piece. In celebration of the wonder and beauty of nature.

Fusing art and horticulture…

Her pressed flower artwork has featured in The Irish Garden magazine and her designs have appeared at Bord Bia Bloom in collaboration with Flower Farmers Of Ireland.
